  1. Some schools don't let you do both but if possible you should miner in speech pathology.

  2. Most schools already have a concentration area built into the schedule.  For special education, it's almost always psychology.  You must use not only the developmental portions of psychology,  but also the testing/statistics portion of it.  Many of my classmates took one additional psychology class and had a minor. Ask your advisor once you arrive at college.  Do try to take a spanish class or two.  It will help you on a daily basis.

  3. computers are always helpful. Spanish comes in handy.  Psychology is a great combo with special ed. That is what I did

  4. I am currently working on getting my state certification in special education.  I've been studying to take the exam for the last few months and have noticed that a lot of the material is dealing with the types of disability that a teacher can encounter in their students. I graduated with a bachelor's in Abnormal psychology.  Most of my studies dealt with different cognitive disabilities and mental illnesses. I feel that my education has helped me understand what the test entails.

You may want to consider taking psychology as your minor.  You can even get more specific and minor in school psychology, abnormal psychology, forensic psychology, etc.

    Good luck to you!

  5. psychology, sociology

    spanish to help ESL students

    technology

    reading, math
