I want to major in broadcast journalism?

i want to be a news anchor. with a bachelors degree in this field i could become a news anchor? do you have to do a whole lot of writing?

how is the salary?

  1. Writing.  The answer is yes, but...

    Yes.  You do have to do a lot of writing.  Most people start at the bottom in a small market as a reporter.  They have a few stories each day to shoot, edit and write and they will present one or two of them as well.  But as you get more experience you can get into bigger markets.  And there are people in bigger markets to do things like shooting and editing for you.  You want to be an anchor though.  The anchors I know only really write one, maybe two stories a day, but I'm in a very small market.  In a place bigger than where I am, the anchors would only really have to present things.  They'll read through everything to make sure it makes sense and make sure facts are right.  

    It's a strange business where the better you get at something, the less you have to do it.
