Question:

I want to major in social worker....any advice?

okay so i finally decided that i want to be a social worker but still in the process of earing my high school so what do you know...do you know how long it takes to get your degree, what could be the best school either community, trade school, or a university? well if you know of anything about this issue im going threw please let me know...thanks so much....

  1. Paul is right except, a degree in Psychology or Sociology would be helpful. Physiology is for nurses and Pre-Med-med basically.  


  2. Unfortunately you have to get your Masters Degree to get any sort of liveable wage in the the field. It's not impossible though. It takes 6 years including a BA and a Masters.

    Of course you can opt to stick with an Associates or Bachelors only. My friend worked in human services with a BA in Psychology and she made like 26K per year. It was not good.

  3. The job isnt great, the pay is low, you will be working in local government...  if you want to do it though, getting a 4 year college degree in physiology or sociology would help.
