I want to make a 6ft.rope ladder for my amazon birds to play on. How do I figure the amount of rope needed?

  3. I don't recommend rope ladders. These ropes are made up of tiny strand wound together. When the bird chews on the rope it bites these tiny strands. These strands can wrap around a birds toe or whole leg. They are nearly impossible to see until you notice that the birds foot or toes are swelled up. When this happens it is very hard to get the string undone. I had a hen sitting on the nest. I hadn't seen her in a week or so. When I did get a chance to see her out of the nest, two of her toes were swollen as large as her leg. She lost those two toes. I will never put a rope anything in a bird cage. My Nape recovered but.................why put a bird through that if we can avoid it?????
