  1. Hi, when I was stationed in England, my wife (then Girlfriend) would call me all the time. What she would have to do was first use the country code, and then dial my number (which was ridiculously long). Your country code is 30. Here's a website with a little more info:

The best thing you could do to save money is to buy a international calling card. It's like, $0.08-$.50 a minute (much better than most calling plans) and you can even use a cell phone and not rack up tons of minutes.

Good luck with your phone call!!

  2. I think that you are wanting to call Essex from Greece, I am guessing that you have made a typing error in your question.

To call Essex from Greece dial 00441279 then the next 6 numbers.

  3. you have to dial first 011 then the country-code then the city-code and then the number!!

    011+30+city+number...

  4. If, dialing from England, UK:

00 is your IDD (International Direct Dial) access code from UK.

30 is the Country Code for Greece.

    Thus, dial (from UK):

00 30 (area code) (local number)

But, if you were to dial UK from Greece, then dial:

00 44 (area code) (local number)

    ------------------------------------

011 is the IDD code when dialing from North America.

Most countries around the world use 00 as IDD, with some exceptions.

So, it depends from which country you are calling to Greece from.
