  1. You could have brown paint maybe with bit of real mud-or they can sprinkle real mud on top of the footprints before paint dries...I would probably get a tray and put layer of paint on it...then child can put whole foot inside with adult support before walking over a long sheet of paper-maybe the non-pattern side of wallpaper? Then have a bowl of sopay water other end which child can stand in-or sit on low chair and dangle feet it-have cloth/sponges and towels next to it!

I would have a large piece of paper and then cut round the footprints and glue on the backing paper for the display!

  2. Use water color paint, I guess that will help it come off easy.

    Either way would be great.

  3. You can get what is called "molding mud or casting clay" at art supply stores.  Be careful with plaster of Paris a lot of people try this and it gets really hot as part of its quick dry time which can burn badly.  Organic clay mixed with water to get it mailable. (let the kids do this all with your guidance)  When the mud is mixed the kids can put a small amount of cooking oil on their feet so that it doesn't stick.  Make sure you label these in the clay.  This has a long drying time but is very organic, heavy, real. This is messy but fun.  If you could actually get a frame made by connecting some 2x2 or 2x4 then put all of the mixed mud in this in a covered area outside.  The kids could all step into this same frame (not at once) and leave the prints together.  A lot you could do with this.  I think the paint is much easier and still a great idea.  I just wanted to mention this if you really had to have mud. Good luck

  4. Use brown tempra paint that you will pour onto a paper or plastic plate.  Have the students busy on another project (possible coloring a picture of a rain shower, etc.) and have them come over one at a time to put their footprint on the butcher paper.  Have a box of baby wipes and newspaper available so that as soon as the students make their print the can sit on the newspaper and get cleaned up.  Sounds like a cute idea!!

  5. use tempra paint with a little liquid soap mixed into it,  You can put the paint in the bottom of a dish pan and have the children step in it befor walking on the paper or you can use a large paint brush to paint it on to their feet.  Have a dish pan of soapy water ready for the children to step into to wash the paint off.  I would use a large sheet of paper and have them walk across the bottom.

  6. A really fun way to do this is to use chocolate pudding! No joke... you make it using water.

We do this in the preschool that I am a student teacher at. We use it to finger paint but I'm sure they would love to stick their feet in it! =]

Just make sure that they know they can't eat it

  7. use finger painting  paint its washable
