Question:

I want to make some "pillow case" dresses for my granddaughters. I want them completely doubled, lined?

Is there a pattern for this? There is a woman that makes them locally to sell, but she doesn't have them doubled and I find the ones made with gingham are too opague for a 5 year old. I would also make the little bloomers for under.

  1. I found this pattern out of the search I did below.  I think I will try a few of these for my grand daughters.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

If you want a double layer just make two of the same size and sew them wrong side out.  seam the arm holes together and leave about 1 1/2 inches opened from the top and seam a half inch across both tops then turn rightside out and sew a seam about 1 inch across the tops of back and front to make the casing for the ribbon ties, put the ribbons threw.  That should eliminate the step of bias around the armholes.  It should also make the dress reversible.

You could use a pattern for shorts for the bloomers.

Hope this is helpful to you.

  2. Google Pillowcase Dresses a lot of site came up. Good Luck ;)))
