I'm a Filipino citizen working in Dubai. It is possible to apply in migrating to Canada while waiting to finish my work contract in Dubai. Can I apply directly to the Canadian Embassy in Dubai, how long it will take before getting the approval. How much it will cost?thanks in advance

  1. Yes.  Apply to the Canadian embassy in Dubai.  The time/cost will depend on why you're applying for the visa (i.e., student, work, visitor, etc.)

  2. Find on this page companies that offer these services and can give you that information: http://www.startpagedubai.com/Migration_...

  3. I am not sure  how long you should be working/living in Dubai for them to allow you to apply in the Canadian Embassy there instead of Manila. But the backlog in the Manila embassy is about 58-65 months vs. 43-69 for the Middle East. Cost will depend on how many people are there in your family. Good luck*

  4. You can apply for your visa in your country of residence. For you, this would be the UAE as you are residing there. The cost depends on what type of visa you are applying for. Typically student visas are cheaper while work visas are more expensive. Keep in mind that student visas in Canada allow you to work for up to 20 hours a week. For full permanent residence/landing visa/indefinite leave to remain you need to either be sponsored by family in Canada or fall under the skilled migrant category. If you are working in the medical industry, then it will be easier for you to be approved for residence.
