  1. been with HSBC for over 20 years, have my Car Insurance; Home Insurance; Mortgage and all banking, they have been excellent.

  2. I currently bank with natwest

  3. I'd say Natwest, they have great customer services and in a UK call centre too. I've never spoken to anyone foreign. no offence to anyone foreign but when your trying to talk to someone, its always better to speak to someone who understands you and you can understand them. There charges (if applicable) are fair and not overboard. second to that Lloyd's TSB. I'd never bank Alliance and Leicester, there customer service stinks and there charges and conditions are worse!

  4. I have banked with HSBC for 6 years now and have never had a problem with them, they understand my needs and have given me a £1500 overdraft, something all other banks would not give me. I'm very pleased with their service, would recommend to everyone.

  5. Try and settle any problem or grievance you have with RBS before you look for another bank. You can save time and effort by settling first with RBS which is a top city bank.

  6. Hi

I highly recommend natwest, they have uk call centres open 24 hours a day and have always provided me with a great service

  7. loyds tsb. they are very good and you get a cool card with a horse on!

  8. I recently got fed up with Lloyds TSB as they charged me a monthly fee for extras such as home emergency insurance, travel insurance etc.  When I came to claim because of a blocked kitchen drain they said I wasn't covered.  I felt ripped off.  I consulted moneysupermarket.com and changed to the alliance and leicester as they gave big interest rates on the current and savings accounts.  They changed over the direct debits and standing orders with now problems at all and the internet banking is great.  They have been acquired by Abbey/santander so I don't know if it will change.

    Good luck

  9. If you have a GOOD or EXCellent (preferred) credit record then go to First Direct (0800 24 24 24)

As the cherry picking part of HSBC  they have great customer service and IF they accept you then you'll never want to leave. tell them 515081 Nelson MA  sent you if they ask who recommended you.

  10. I have banked with Nat West for 10 years and never had a problem. They're very helpful, and can't do enough to please me when I go into a branch.

  11. i have found First Direct to be great for the last 20 odd years, but it depends on your needs.

all banks do online and phone banking these days.  If you have loads of spare cash (who does theses days) then you need an account that pays loads of interest, but if you need an overdraft or a loan, all the banks are pretty similar.

First Direct give a free £250 overdraft to all customers and I have 2 accounts with them, so can manage £500 over the month.
