I want to move from the UK to another country, which one should I go to?

Britain is really starting to p**s me off - me and a couple of friends want to move abroad when we're older.

Where would you recommend? At the moment we're thinking about New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland, France, Germany, maybe the US. Any advice/warnings on moving to any of those countries? Or any other suggestions where we could go to? Have to be friendly places with nice natural countryside, like mountains or forests or lakes etc.

Thanks!

  1. I would say Switzerland or Spain. They're both nice warm countries with mountains. Spain has everything, beaches, mountains, forests, cities, oh and really good graffitii! it's more like art not crappy names like in the uk. One of the bad points about spain is that in the big cities, like Barcelona theft is quite common. Anyway think about things like, hurricanes and volcanoes. I personally wouldn't want to live anywhere where there are hurricanes or scary things like that. lol

    good luck.

  2. How about Afganistan or Iraq? Warm weather, plenty of sunshine and you're guaranteed a lot of exciting nightlife. Or how about Somalia or Mozambique, lots of colourful and exciting people.

  3. If going U.S, states like Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, upstate New York, Michigan, Wisconsin & Minnesota have wonderful mountains, forests and lakes.  Vermont is known for having many people who move there from other places so is especially receptive to new people moving into the community.  Sometimes when it is not an urban area, it is hard to come into the community from the outside because it is a small tight-knit group that all grew up around each other.

And Canada also has lot of beautiful lakes, mountains and forest areas.  Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Quebec are all great provinces for that kind of environment.

  4. Yeah, I wanna move too. I was born in England, but the high taxes have started to p**s me off! I wanna move to Australia, or Switzerland...

You can always move to N. Ireland. I heard there's no council tax to pay over there.

  5. If you like surfing then NZ is the place to be.

  6. **** off then ya gimp

  7. Most other countries have 'entry requirements' ..

USA & Switzerland are the most difficult to get into .. (for USA you must have skills .. for Switzerland you must have money :-) )

In the case of Australia / New Zealand, you must have skills they want (which will normally mean you hold qualifications at Degree level), be healthy (they require you to submit a medical report) and have no criminal record (getting caught by speed trap camera's is not criminal).

Since you are a UK citizen you can go live in any other EU country (such as France & Germany) without needing to meet any special requirements (however I would not suggest you consider France unless you speak good French & although you do not really need to speak German to live in Germany (at least in the cities), it helps)

  8. Try Poland, the place must be empty ; )

  9. How about Vancouver B.C. Canada, great place where you can go hunting, fishing, skying all from home, great friendly people

  10. same here, im pissed of the UK lol. So i recommend you to go to barbados. Its a friendly and beautiful island which is located in the caribbean and has tons of places to explore. The best time to go out with your friends is at sunset, because thats when the beauty of Barbados awakens. Check it out for yourself, google it up. Need anymore advice? feel free to ask me :]

  11. Well, you said it has to be friendly. So you can automatically cut out all the European countries you listed. (And in case anyone takes that in offense, I'm currently on exchange in Germany right now and I LOVE IT, but, not friendly.) I'm from Vermont, US, and I can say that it's really pretty and natural and all that but NOT much to do. I guess overall I'd just say spend a fair amount of time IN that place BEFORE you move there, speaking from experience.

  12. I would go to Latin America, just about any country, where the women are very beautiful and friendly.
