everybody keeps saying that I should not move there, that Sherbourne is a 'bad' street, and not safe, that the Moss Park is a park that has to be avoided, etc. etc. If anybody leaves in that area, please let me know about the safety and how appropriate is this for kids. Thanks

  1. well the kids age and the length of time u will live in the area r important but it does have some problems. Sherbourne has crack dealers at night  Moss park has its transient crowd but in the whole there r some nice people in the area if u get on the right street. It is Downtown so if u have lived in this city u should have an idea of what is here just magnify it a few fold

  2. This particular area is really BAD. You'd better avoid it.

  3. It's not like people are murdered there daily, but of all the neighbourhoods in the city, that's not one I'd choose to live in. Especially with kids. Walk through there in the day and it's not a big problem, but there are just a lot of drug-addicts hanging out in the park.

Why not check out the apartments in High Park. Safe; good for kids; and Bloor West Village has lots of shopping and culture.

If your heart is set on living right downtown, I'd choose a location west of Yonge Street.
