  2. You probably have the money in your IRA allocated to investments that are going down.  You can probably re-allocate the money into a fixed account.

    If you want to move it, there are places you could transfer it as an IRA that would give you a bonus just for moving it (maybe as much as 15%) and it would still be an IRA so you would have no taxes or penalties.  In these accounts you can't lose your money, but it can also grow when the stock market starts growing again.

    There are a lot of things that could make this a good or bad move for you.  All your plans for your IRA need to be considered, and the good and bad side of each option compared to your plans before you should make a decision.  Contact me if you have questions or want more info.

  3. I would not pull cash out of an IRA because you generally need to pay major penalties for doing that AND because IRAs are generally tax free (stocks are not). Don't do it.
