I want to move my company out of South Africa to the USA.?

Question

I have a small company and currently employ 26 people. Due to circumstances out of my control it has a limited future in South Africa. I wish to close it and start over in the US. I want to move over with 2 other partners. I would employ about 3 to 5 people in the States. Where can I find out more about the Laws regulations and procedures? Neither my 2 partners nor me are US citzens. What are my options? Do you know anyone that has done this? Any good advice would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

I think you should follow Ferrari's advice, excellent advice Ferrari by the way. I just wonder some attorney firms have "partners" in different countries, you can usually see it on their letter heads eg. Cape Town branch and London Branch perhaps the best is to go to a large well known firm and find out if they have associates in the States, that will make it even easier for Odie?

Start with a gratis cost free investigation by contacting the nearest USA embassy in South Africa.  They will assist you or at least advise you since that is their primary purpose for being in your country. . . .COMMERCE.  

Lawyers and others will charge you a fee for just advising you about the information they get from the same embassy

a couple of my clients have been through this. There is a lot of red tape. You will have to get a lawyer from the US to assist you and to apply for a 10 year travel & business visa.

Most important, first open a "branch" of your business over there, it will make things 10 times easier. Keep your current operations up and running in the mean time.

They will need a lot of referral letters, financial info, business acumen from you and your partners.
