I'm 18 years old, in a good job and want to move out but at the moment i stay with just my mum so if i move out she will be in the house by herself, and i really think she would be lonely, so that's making me feel a bit guilty and not sure what to do any ideas would be good, thanks

  1. Sooner or later you have to leave the nest. But I can understand how you feel because when I left home at age 20 I felt bad for awhile leaving my mom, but in time she understood and I always went to see her or called to see how she was feeling. You may want to have a talk with your mom about this so you know how she feels if you move.

  2. Is she a pet person? Maybe get her a cat.

But, don't feel guilty about moving out. Are you moving far away? Set up a day to go over the house or call her so she'll know you haven't forgot about her. She knows this is something that you're going to do. She expects it.

  3. I actually looked forward to the kids moving out.  You're going to have to sooner or later and being on your own prior to marriage is a good lesson in responsibility.  Still, if you're not moving far you can always have mom over for a meal, or let her help you with decorating.  Get her involved in it and let her see you can take care of yourself.  That knowledge will be far more comforting to her than having you sitting around the house with her wondering what would happen to you if she weren't around
