How easy or difficult would it be for me to find a job? I'm a Network Engineer (info tech), 4 year degree and 8 years of expereince. I would appreciate any leads, info or advice. I won't already have a job when I get there, so I'm wondering how much money will be necessary, or how long I can survive without a job until something falls into my lap

If others are interested in sharing the struggles of inter continental move... let's talk

  1. well i think you could find a job easily in a urban area in australia. how long you will last......depends on how much money your bringing. start out with a smaller house so theres not a big payment and work your way up. it would be even easyer if someone else came besides you because you could split payments. bring your car somehow because you would save alot of money on that. hope i helped!

  2. I work in the IT field and there are few jobs in your area however getting visa to work in Australia is not easy. You could get a Working Holiday visa but only for 1 year (if you qualify). Let's say if you had a visa you would find a job easy, especially with your experience.

Brisbane is a great city to live in. An average wage for a network engineer would be anywhere between 60k to 80k (check this out www.careerone.com.au or www.seek.com.au)

I move to Australia 11 years ago but I first opened a business (therefore invested money in Australia) then I sold it and changed career.

  3. it isnt easy to qualify to immigrte to australia

you need to be a skilled worker in a field that australia needs

  4. You wont have a prob with getting a job here...with your skills. Rental has gone up in Brisbane...so sharing would be your go, there is always share accommodations your will find, in the local newspapers, realestates. Brisbane is growing, with alot of building constructions, tunnelling and new freeways..so jobs are abundant . Dont worry you will survive.
