  1. Bettter start applying for a visa - can take years:

  2. If your going into a city like Toronto 3000 - 5000 will cover you for a while.

  3. This is a regional question. If your going to a big city Toronto, Montreal , Vancouver or Calgary... you'll probably need at least 8000. For first and last month rent etc. Also your social benefits won't kick in until 3 months after you get here...assuming your going for residency/ citizenship.

  4. When you applied for immigration status, they usually provide that kind of information to you with pamphlets.  It is usually in the tens of thousands.

  5. Enough money to take me along with you. :D

  6. This is a very broad question, but anytime you are moving out of the country you need to make sure you have thousands of dollars saved, not hundreds. It all depends on whether you have a job lined up. If you have a child or children you may need to save even more. I went to Montreal to see an F1 race in 2002 and I absolutely loved it there. Good luck.

  7. Enough to last you at least a few month. Depending on where you want to move to, find out how much you can rent a place for, plus take into account the cost of food, transportation, unexpected expenses, etc and you need time to find a job, which might take a couple of month or so.
