  1. Oh well..

All the previous answers were correct & useful... Let me add a comment on "fliege's" advice...Check into . AFEES - jobs at any of (the few) airbases we have left...There you don't have to worry about "your german"...

But... on the other hand, it's NOT bad to comprehend the language, so keep up your studies!!!

Some big companies (like: IBM,XEROX,etc.) may offer you a position, but I doubt it very seriously, if you'll receive such s luvrative wage you get at present!!!

I assume, your MOM is .. german???? If so, I do   N O T understand, why she did n't raise you : -bilingual-???? That's a shame!!! I've raised both my kids : bilingual !!That's the privilege of a... "mixed-marriage"... SMILE!!!

However.... I can check my local newspaper regularly at the job-advertisements... I live 11Km away from Luxembourg, which is quite internationally inclined... Maybe THAT would be the "answer to your Q.".., cause Lux. is pretty open-minded

I will keep my eyes opened for you!!

Let me give you my email-adr.;a.granderson@yahoo.de

so you can get in touch with me....later...

Send you all my best wishes from Germany.... Annette***

  2. Is not so easy. Do you have relatives in Germany? Perhaps they can help. Otherwise look some government jobs here overseas. You can work somewhere at the US Military Installations. What about that? They staying here in Bavaria, Rh.Pfalz, Hessen areas.

    US Army spouse.... Good Luck...

  3. FIRST OF ALL I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU CAN HAVE A DUAL citizenship since  between usa and germany there is no such thing  . but yes you can go to any town and register for a permanent  residency  permit  than you will be able to look for a job  it will not be easy, you better have some money  to get through  the first several month  "" also ""

you need an address first where you are living  otherwise no permit  i would say to you ::  go to a german consulate  and they  will give you all the infos you need.  everything else is heresay  and forget these  $$$  some people said you can make  if you  can find a job which pays $$  1500 - 2000 euro a month  take it and later look around  and brush  up on your german

  4. do you speak good german?

if you think so, write something in german

Hallo. Konnen Sir mir bitte helfen? Konnen Sie mir bitte sagen, wo ich kann arbeit im Deutschland finden. Hofentlich ich will dort leben beim Oktober

Hallo.Koennen Sie mir bitte helfen?Koennten Sie mir bei der Arbeitssuche behiflich sein?.Hoffentlich werde im Oktober schon dort wohnen.

yes, you need more help ;)

good german is required for good jobs

without best german knowledge you cant get good jobs or it will be pretty hard

( im not from the work agency, i cant garanty for the correctness of the suggestions, you would have to call the Bundesagentur für(fuer) Arbeit.)

i would recommend living in germany as an au pair and take classes here, you will learn german faster

to be a store manager in germany you must have very good or perfect german knowledge

    5.000-18.000 euro per month

    that be 7.802-28.089$ per month

but i cant garanty the correctness of it

large companys will give more i guess...um..25.000$ per month ? or 20.000$ per month?28.000$? no idea actually

i wouldnt advise to hurry so much

    you need a perspective

  5. I think you should just go! If all you are worried about is a job I would just go and travel and find jobs here and there...do it now while you can! That's what I plan on doing...unless I find a rich german lol!

  6. Go to www.edelweisslodgeandresort.com, in the upper right corner click on employment

You won't be making any $77 grand per year, BUT! You won't have to learn the language. It is a resort hotel for American military, so all the other employees and guests are American. The tenure is 13 months, no more no less. Unfortunately, you have to start out with a crappy job: bus boy, maid service, dishwasher etc, but only for the first 3 months, then you can apply for another job. They give you a place to live, dorm-style housing. Hope this helps!

  7. OK, first: find a job! Than move! I have no idea how much retail managing pays, but be aware of the taxes, insurance and other fees that are taken from your paycheck every month. Also be aware that you might need to pay for child care and stuff like that, as basically no company I know offers free child care to their employes. But you never mentioned family, so I guess that is not an issue.

I would advise you to go to international companies that also have stores in the US and apply for their jobs and make sure you let them know you are interested in going to Germany for their company. You will have it easier in changing to the German company than. Think about maybe... whow, retail.... hm... I don't think Siemens or something is interesting for you? Starbucks, for instance, is getting bigger in Germany, so is Subways, but those are all restaurant kind of things. Maybe a clothes company? Like... Puma? Adidas? Or Birkenstock?

Look into companies that are big in Germany and the US. That's your best bet. And, like I said: First find a job, than plan your move!

    Good Luck!

  8. Sure there is hope.

If you really have dual citizenship, you should just sell all your stuff in the USA and just come over. German citizens are entitled to Social Welfare benefits, and this includes you. Unless you got several thousand EUR in the bank (and thus aren't needy) you'll be given a small flat with rent already paid for and enough money to pay for food and other basic necessities. The German government will also arrange for language classes for you so that you can get a job and they can quit giving you benefits.

It will be much easier to learn German and find a job once you are already in Germany, especially for working in retail.

Check out www.toytowngermany.com and make good use of the search function there.

  9. Think about your plans.

You need very good education and knowledge of the german language.

The salary as GEIER D told to you is a dream-you will earn not so much, if its a good company and you are good too-maybe 50% of his rates!!
