I want to move to Seattle. I've visited there in the past, and like the city, the temperature, the weather, even the rain. The only thing holding me back is a job. Will you hire me? Or know anybody who will??

I've got a degree in architecture and minimal experience (college grad in '05). My job doesn't have to be in that field.

  1. Try to look at what you've written from the perspective of an employer.  We don't know anything much about you, other than that you have a degree in architecture and "minimal experience."   You don't say where you went to school.

It's not even clear what your experience has been.  Have you been working as an architect?  What have you worked on?  Who have you worked for?  Or maybe you have been doing something else.  If so, what?

Employers don't give jobs.  They hire people to do jobs that they have.  It's up to you to show that you have the skills, abilities, and interest to do well at whatever job that is.  So get your resume out.  Send out copies by e-mail, snail mail, and every other way you can.  If you get a nibble, call all the other places (the ones you haven't heard from) and tell them you will be in Seattle on such-and-such a day and would like to meet with them.

In short, you have to pound the street, especially during an economic downturn.  Keep at it. I wish you very good luck.

  2. Here's a job you can move to any part of the country with, you will never have to worry about anyone hiring you when ever you decide to move to another state. go to http://www.deliveringonthepromise.com/40...
