  1. I already emailed/answered you in regards to the questions you sent me.

The comments about 'That's all you need' to get to Germany are correct, more or less. With a US Passport you can get into Germany, staying in Germany as in LIVING is a little more difficult. The German government just does not 'Hand Out' the Living&Working Permits, and to get Citizenship is even more paperwork. I can only wonder what that other person who said it is so easy does for a living?

  2. Sorry Antoinette,

I tried to enter and stay here permanently without marrying, but had no luck.  The govt. does not just let people stay here permanently, so here´s what I did-although you´re young, so might not necessarily do this too-

This is the website I turn to for any information regarding German citizenship.

    http://www.germany.info/relaunch/info/mi...

When I wanted to stay here, when my husband and I were engaged, we went to the Landandsamt (in Lindau) and spoke with an authority there.  Even though I was engaged, and we planned to marry, he said I needed to go home.  We married in Las Vegas, and when I came back, I was given a work permit after the authorities did an extensive background and passport check.  I also had to enroll in, and this month, will finish a 6 month intensive language and culture intergration course.  After this is finished and I pass, I will have to check in with this office every 2 years for 4 more times.  After this, I can qualify for citizenship, but won´t because I just want to keep my US citizenship.  This way, if anything happens to me, the US gov´t. can help in an emergency or legal situation.

I´m sorry I don´t have more information for you-do you live near a city where they have a German Consulate and you can go and personally go and speak with someone there about the possibility of you moving here?

By the way, Michael must be living in Germany illegally, so disregard his answer.  Your US tourist passport is only good for 90 days here, and I hope Michael isn´t checked by the authorities if he´s stayed here over 3 months.

  3. Getting a visa to work and reside in any European country is very difficult.  You will have to get a work visa or be able to prove you have enough money coming in from the states to support yourself.  You can begin your visa research at the site below.

  4. I was raised in Germany, in order to stay, you will eventually have to work FOR the Germans. Otherwise, as a "tourist", you won't be allowed to stay longer than 90 days. And in order to begin working for the German, you will have to obtain the necessary work visa, etc. My suggestion is to try and work for the US Military. Try looking for AAFES jobs, or DECA (commissary). If you are hired by them, you won't need to worry about obtaining work visas and all the other stuff going along with it. I'm not sure what other skills you may have since you mentioned that you are still in high school, but you can also check out :

    www. USAJOBS.com

They advertise Government jobs, and for some they will even PAY to bring you to Germany and other countries, if you qualify and are hired for a certain position.

    Also try:

    www.CPOL.army.com

Good luck! Germany is a Beautiful place to live!!!!

  5. I'm an american. I've lived in German for 2 years now.. You don't need nothing but a passport.. To get into Germany.  In fact here is a website to tell you what or if you may need a visa.. www.passportexpress.com.. Click on Visas.. You'll find info there for visa if you want to travel somewhere that requires a visa.. Now as far as living here, you need a proof of address (hostel) then if you plan on working there you must pass a test for Deusch, then you'll need to go and get what is called an apostille. This proves that your're not wanted by the FBI.. Thats is bascally it.. Good Luck.. As you can see on my picture, this is a picture from Russia where in moscow i once lived... Trust me its not difficult to get to Germany..
