I want to move to kolkata...

Question

I want to move to Kolkata but I want to know a few things.

1) How much does it cost to live there..I am vegetarian (2) Are jobs easy to find for Americans that move to India (3) Is Hindi an easy language to learn and how long will it take to learn it (4) I am a Union Electrician, are there any electrician jobs there..if so how much do they make. (5) my girlfriend is getting her Medical Degree in Family Practice...how much do doctors make a year (6) How much does a decent sized house cost (about 1,800sq ft) (7) What kind of visa's would we need to move there long term cause we're looking to live there forever until we can become citezens....Please any and all information is helpful for me to move to Kolkata, West Bengal India...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

KRSNACON? Hare Krsna. I don't know the answers to All your questions. I guess you'll need an Indian for most of them. In Kolkata English is widely spoken and Bengali is also. You can learn Hindi or Bengali because Hindi is the national language and both are similar. Bengali is a bit easier to speak because of no gender but Hindi is easier to read and write. They are vastly different from English but if you get a good teacher or go to a school you can learn quickly if you have an affinity with language.

You have to get a working visa I think.
