Im sick of everything about the US...Im tiered of every other country hating the Americans who can understand why all the other countries hate America all because of a few poloticians and their biggoted redneck neighbors who bash everything that isnt American. Yet I have a few concerns...I know the process it takes to get into a uni as a foriegn student, but won't I be behind because the US age for collage is 18-19, when in the UK its 16ish. Will I be out of place as far as my age I concerned? And when I look at the schools I dont quite understand their accepting system. (like graduate prospects)..is there anyone who can possible compare it to the US's system?

Or any other advice that could be usful.

Anything is appreciated. Thanks.

  1. People in the UK go to collage (or sixth form) from 16-18 then go to university. The higher education system in the United Kingdom is respected throughout the world so graduate prospects shouldn't be a problem in either country.

Everyone is different and your university experience will be unique to you, but all the Americans in my class at university loved everything about their time in the UK, especially being allowed to drink at 18.

  2. hey xD   i live in Britain  (Scotland but we have the same schools systems as England)

    well  kinder garden = nursery

             first grade = primary 1

second grade = primary 2 and so on

we only have 2 kinds of school primary(kids from 5-12 )  and grammers school kids from 12-16or 18 optional  there called years  (aka year 1 , year 2)

    hope this helped xD

  3. University starts at the age of 18 and over in the UK. You have nothing to worry about. Its quite straight forward. I have lots of friends from the US who i study with at university.

If you have any specific questions that i maybe able to help you with give me a shout! Im not sure how the US system is but i do know alot about the UK system.

  4. My thoughts would be no it shouldn't be different, but it's good your looking into it.  Good luck.
