  1. MAYBE YOU CAN ROB THE BANK FIRST OR BORROW MONEY TO SOMEONE BEFORE YOU GO THERE BUT I THINK IT"S MORE WISE IF YOU DON'T GO THERE.COS YOU'LL BECOME A BEGGAR

  2. If you don't have enough money to keep yourself for a year then don't come. In the area you want to go there are not alot of Brits therefore you will need a good level of Spanish to get a job, unless you want to wash up in some dive for around 10 20€ day, illegally.

Things here are not all it's cracked up to be, I've been here 16 years and came with 2000 pounds, but it took me 8 months to find some kind of a job.

Don't think the grass is greener here, in fact it is quite barren!!

Don't burn your bridges, pay all your debts before you come (just in case you have to return). Alot of people think they will never go back so don't pay their bills etc before leaving....just remember maybe you will HAVE to go back and sign on and you don't want problems when you arrive back in the UK. I hope this doesn't happen but if you can't find work and have no money here, your only alternative will be to return to Britain.

  3. Save what little money you have because Britain is going to be the new Spain once global warming really kicks in!

  4. I've lived in nerja, the Costa Del sol in Spain for 5yrs. i too had very little money when i came here but everything luckily worked out. its very easy to get bar work over here and once you've picked up the language properly , there are all sorts of options. you really do need to have money to put down a deposit on a place , most places are around 450euros per month which you have to pay 1 month upfront+another 450 deposit which you'll get back when you leave. i would recommend taking over enough money to do this. take enough money to live for a couple of months comfortably in case you don't get a job straight away and don't burn all your bridges back home. living over here is great but its not easy by a long shot. lots of people make the mistake of thinking it'll be like a long holiday, its not but saying that, the best move i ever made. good luck.

  5. i too wish to escape the hum drum and rain, however unlike you i am quite minted - yet i cant free up the cash.

voila my secret plan - live on a boat for a few months at a time.

  6. forget it kev, if you have no money  you wont survive you get nowt for nowt in spain i live here believe me the grass is,nt always greener go on google and ask for expierences of ex pats

  7. You can teach English. The Spaniards are not very good in English. Put a tag on different universities and you will be busy in no time!
