Lean Spanish. You'll pick up more once your there but get some basics under your belt first, it will make people think your serious and not just after a holiday job in the tourist spots. If your going to the north east you could impress with some Catalan or even Euskara if your going to the Basque country, that will cut you above the Spanish migrants and the South Americans.

Think twice before going. Future doesn't look too well over there... But if you are decided to go, then I suggest you to find all the info. you can have about how getting convalidated your studies from USA, for example.

Learn Spanish, since most spanish people aren't too good on foreign languages.

Choose a good city to go. Being an stranger it would be better to get the first year to a big city, I'd suggest Madrid, otherwise you can go Barcelona too.

And the more money you can save, the better. Renting an appartment is very expensive here.

If that's what you want, make sure you are prepared to do that. Make plans and just be prepared for what you plan to do in Spain and how you're going to get that goal. You have a few years to go so you have plenty of time
