I went on the immigration website for the IND and I couldn't start the "registration wizard" because on the "List of reasons to move to the Netherlands" it didn't have "leisure". does that mean I can't move there?

  1. my husband is dutch and in order for me to move there he has to have a home in his name, or rental house, along with making a certain amt of money before my kids and i can move up there. as a person coming alone, i dunno what the requiremts are

  2. I'd say that if you can't meet the criteria on the 'registration wizard', yes I have looked at it, then there is little chance of you being able to migrate to there.

You can't just decide to up and move to another country simply because you'd like to.

If you are retired and/or completely financially self-supporting, then you might try emailing them and asking the question directly.

  3. Obviously they don't want people moving to their country to slack off.

  4. What does "leisure" mean exactly?

If you move here then how are you planning to fund your life?  - eating, rent, etc etc etc?  Are you a lottery winner then or something?

No, the Dutch immigration site does not offer a visa for people who want to come here and either work illegally to support their lifestyles, and you will not be entitled to state benefits.  Even if you do not get benefits you will still be using facilities/utilities that are partially/wholely funded by public money.

You can read more in detail here http://www.ind.nl/en/Images/4012_tcm6-59... concerning the listed visa possibilities.  Indeed 'leisure' beyond a limited stay tourist visa is not listed

... I guess I just don't understand what you mean!

  5. Contact their embassy.
