  1. You might try soups or something like that and they dont always have to be hot soup you could try something like a squash soup or something fruity

  2. you could always make lamb with potatoes, or just go old fashioned with hamburgers... not everyone likes sweets all the time. youll run out of buisness if thats all u sell

  3. Well for one, I dont know what it's like there in Sydney but coffee is sadly practically the new replacement for sleepiness here in the U.S.  It seems the world runs on coffee and, you didnt mention it, but I think you can get plenty of all day customers with a decent variety of coffees and other assorted drinks of that kind (cappuccino, you know the c**p starbucks sells, I mean they practically do get all day business with just that).  Plus it wouldn't hurt to maybe have one of those fresh deli sandwich lines.  They aren't that hard to keep up and people love that...being able to choose how they want you to make their sandwich.  You know just a small refrigerated cart with the essential meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments.  Just the first things that came to mind...hope they helped a bit.

  4. Well I can give you ideas on themes and such but with food you can serve dinner but it can have it's up's and downs. Lunches can be great from Fish & Chips to Chicken Schnitzel and the usual lunches. Though other ideas can be other things like miniature Pizza's to even Fusion based dishes incorporating dishes from Asia to more spicy foods from the Middle East. It does not always work but things like Thai Green Chicken Curry adding lemon zest and lime for a nice lunch is good.

There needs to be a good atmosphere, something that catches the eye and would draw the person in. Not just another usual place but something unusual. It looks like a coffee shop but your head says it's not. Having the usual items will attract people but making it different from the rest would draw more people. Give people something more than the usual coffee shop would do. An art gallery or even other objects would help. The smell of coffee freshly grided draws people to the shop when they pass by. Even having an outdoor garden where people can sit with the green life helps.

The selection of cakes and other nice sweets help and the presentation of everything goes well. Having the staff knowing regular customers names is a bonus advantage and a friendly gesture will bring people back. An original name gives it a charm that makes the coffee shop stand out from the rest and getting to know the customers helps also.

Music doesn't always appeal to most people and targeting an age group is never a good idea. You need to try and get a shop to appeal to everyone by mixing ideas such as having retro mixed in with classic or along the lines. have things in a garden with Teapots stuck on a wall with plants growing out of them. Unusual is good in ways.
