I want to open a website for the registered members of my site where they can play online poker after paying a certain charge. I want to know whether the site will be legally safe? what documents I need to submit for it and what should be my steps?

You cannot open a site from servers in the United States. The headquarters and servers must be located in a jurisdiction that allows gambling. The closest jurisdiction that I'm aware of is the Kahnawake native reserve outside of Montreal.

Maybe you might want to check them out and see how they are different from other sites that makes them legal.

You cannot legally *run* an online casino on US soil...you can however, play online casinos that are mostly run overseas.

You can start websites ABOUT online poker in the U.S. but you cannot legally start sites that allow users to play online poker for real money.

So if you want to start a website that explains the strategy behind no limit games and lists the best online websites to play at, you will be ok.

If you start a site like www.pokerstars.com, you're going to get in big trouble.
