I want to paint my brick house, any helpful advice?

We have a horrible ugly orangeish brick on our house, we want to modernize it and paint it gray with a black roof, black shutters and white trim. What do you think? any advice on painting brick??

    Painting bricks is not wise, for many reasons.  There should be other ways to make it nice.
