You could always just color it with crayons... A lot less messy that way :-) Hope this helps.

If you are thinking of the water color that artists use to paint pictures???

Don't do it.

It does not stick well to timber or brick. It will fade away on one side of the house before you've finished another side.

Use a proper house paint, specially made for exteriors. These come in hundreds of different colours. Some of them are synthetic paints that are water thinnable and fast drying.

If you want to paint designs or a picture on the house, you can buy the same good quality paint in smaller sizes  --- from 1 pint right down to tiny sample pots.

The best way to paint your house is by believing that you won't make a mistake.There are some very logical and practical ways to figure out the best paint colors for you and your neighbors. I like to ask the following questions when beginning an exterior paint job:

1. setting? urban, sub-urban or rural

2. direction the house faces? each direction casts it's own color on the house paint...shady or sunny?

3. neighborhood standards?

4. style of house? what works for a Victorian may not work well for a Tudor

5. size of the house? a little rose cottage is cute, a mega-mansion painted rose pink is too much of a good thing

Can you see where I'm going with these questions? A house is too big an investment in paint and time for making mistakes. Who wants to paint a house twice? Not me!

Don't forget to consider your favorite colors...while you may not get exactly the color you love, there usually is a way to get your favorite with a little tweaking. Good luck!
