I want to paint my mountain bike, anybody have advide?

i don't want to get powder coat or anything, just plain spray paint, anybody have any ideas or steps to take to paint my bike and what other things i should use?

Sand it down, primor it with a steel primer. Then coat it lightly with Rustoleum

1-strip everything off the bike

2-anything that wont come off (bearing cups etc) mask off with masking tape.

3-sand down thouroughly with the finest grit sanding paper you can find.

4-use paint thinner to wipe down (to remove grease/dust)

5-hang the frame on a washing line.

6-apply a good primer (for steel frames i use zinc rich primer)

7-allow the primer to dry fully (at least a couple of hours)

8-carefully apply your colour (hold the can square on to the surface,approx. 30 cm away from frame)

9-allow the coloured paint to dry fully.

10-pull off masking tape and re-assemble.

be aware that your choice of primer colour can affect the finish of your top coat,if you're painting it a mettalic colour use a light coloured primer to really make the mettalic colour stand out. have fun doing it and dont rush it!!! :)

I don't know about what things you should use, maybe you should check with the bike store, hun. 8D;

As for colours, I'm sure you can figure that one out. Maybe go to like... a store where you buy spray-paint for grafitti, and do it.
