I want to paint my own wakeboard graphics?

should i sand off original grapics then paint that ???? how could i?

  1. I've done this before for the top side - somewhat fun, and you'll appreciate originality - but others might not.

    I wouldn't try painting the bottom. You need to really protect that or water will take the paint off.

    Use an electric sander - keep sanding until you see the base coat. Try not to sand off groves, etc.

    Paint with any paint you want.

    Use many thin layers of a clear glossy paint enamel. The more you use, the skinnier and more protective it will be. As a coat, you can also try clear epoxy, or poly____, however they tend to add a sticky feeling, and a yellow tint.

    Once you're done, you should need to re-drill a few holes for bindings.


  2. i think you'll ruin your board at worst and be very disappointed at best. My nephew got a surf board and he was able to design his own graphics through a company that does that sort of thing. got no info on it though,,sorry.

  3. Only try it if you have a wood board, it worked great with my wakeskate. Make sure you put a lot of clear coats on afterwards.
