I would like to pick up short wave radio on my computer or listen the ships harbour talking all legal how can i do this without buying a short wave radio

  1. The major broadcasters have webstreams of their shortwave broadcasts online

    But to actually listen and control  try:

    All of this is legal as long as what you are listening to is legal in your country (as for instance police transmissions are illegal to overhear in some countries, but in the US almost all monitoring (short of phone calls and anything scrambled) is legal pretty much


  2. You can try entering "shortwave rebroadcasts" (Without the quotes) in your favorite search engine. But if memory serves correctly from my old third-class license studying, it's illegal to rebroadcast radio signals, but give it a try - that may have changed with the internet.

    One of our tekkier members may have a better answer (but they're all eating dinner right now ;<)
