  1. the main thing that coaches look for skills-wise is passing. that's where you put your wrists together and your arms make a flat platform for the volleyball to hit on. bend your knees, and wait for the ball to land on your arms and push it to your target (when passing, the target is the setter, who is by the net) with your shoulders, arms, and hips. make the pass high so the setter can set the ball to the hitter.

Setting is where you straighten your arms above your head when the ball is coming (high), you push it up to the hitter nice and high.

hitting is when you hit the ball over  the net after you get a set from the setter. wait for the ball to come just before the net before you jump and hit it over. try to hit the ball where the people on the other side are not.

be sure when serving to keep your shoulders and hips square to your target. the only thing coaches are really looking for now is that you can get the ball over the net.

you cannot touch the net when trying to get a ball over. however, the ball can touch the net as long as it gets over.

the most important thing about trying out for anything is that you listen to the coach and do what he/she says, don't talk when they are talking, run everywhere you go on the court, and have a positive additude.

    hope this helps! good luck.

  2. You definetley need to know how to pass!! Heres basically how...

    Forearm ( bumping)

copy what he's doing in that pic. Remember to always keep your thumbs and wrists together! Also remember to stay low and not swing your arms, mostly use your legs!

    Setting-

Spread hands about 4 inches apart and make them ball shaped. only hit the ball with your fingertips!!
