I want to play cricket till I'm 35 – Kevin Pietersen – Cricket News Update
The prolific http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806, who bid farewell to the one day format of international cricket last month, has said that he wants to play cricket till the age of 35.
Blaming England's unrelenting schedule for his early retirement from limited-overs international cricket, the 31-year-old Natal-born cricketer said that in order to preserve his body, he was forced to pick between Test and One Day cricket, and his
ultimate choice was the supreme format of the game.
"I'd had enough of the schedule. I can't carry on doing everything,” said the top order batsman while speaking to the media reporters on Sunday.
"I can't play at my peak - I can't keep on playing every single game and enjoying every single game - when I have to play every single form of cricket, or when I have to train every single day. You fall out of love with it. And I want to still play
cricket until I'm 35," added Pietersen, who claimed of having played the most cricket, after Indian skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028, over the past seven years.
Kevin Pietersen announced retirement from the one day format (and consequently T20) of international cricket, with immediate effect, on May 31st leaving fans and cricket critiques in utter disbelief, as the decision had come
just a couple of months before the esteemed World T20 Championship, to be held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, in September.
The South Africa born cricketer, who was the player of the tournament in the previous edition of the World T20 Championship in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, which England had won, wanted to play in this year’s championship as well but a clause in the ECB contract binds
the players to either play both ODIs and T20s or quit from both the formats.
"I've said I'll play the T20 World Cup," reiterated the hard-hitting top-order batsman. "If they want me to play the T20 World Cup, I'll play the T20 World Cup. But contracts are contracts,” he added further.
Pietersen also revealed that he was going on break until July, however he will available for the home Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 next month.

To date, the right-hander has played 86 Tests, compiling a tally of 6857 runs at an impressive average of around fifty, including 20 centuries and 27 half centuries.
