  1. Price doesn't always mean quality.  I'm not from that area, but until you find a teacher that you like, and can afford, here are some free sites.

    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=free+Be...

  2. i suggest you go to http://www.justinguitar.com - a site that has everything that you need to know about guitars. or buy the book "The Complete Billboard Illustrated Guitar Handbook" which also does the same thing.

Well if you're new i suggest you could start by learning the chords and chord progression. once you get it. play playing some rhythm songs, and try to get used to it. After learning rhythm guitar try to switch to lead guitaring. Which can be done by learning to improvise solos. try to learn the scales so that you could learn to improvise. and lastly practice. it's the only way to improve

  3. sorry i dont live in tx

  4. Your local music store usually can recommend someone or sometimes there's a bulletin board where people - including teachers - post small ads.  You might also look on craigslist since they have a Dallas section.

If you don't seem to click with your teacher, no problem - just find another one.  There are all kinds of teaching styles and it might take you a few tries to get one you really like. Good luck.
