  1. A Uke is MUCH easier to learn than guitar. the trick is finding a quality instrument. there is a lot of infereior product out there. you might check out the Tribute concert for George Harrison DVD. You will want to play NOW.

  2. Any ukelele sounds good. The tuning is the reverse of a guitar.  So, its not complicated to learn.

Probably one of the easiest instument on the market. It has nylong strings so their is no need for added pressure to make a note sound.

  3. A ukulele is tuned exactly like the first four strings of a guitar.

Soprano and concert sized ukes are tuned a 4th above guitars, but the relationship between the strings is exactly the same as guitar.

A "D" chord shape on guitar is a "G" chord on uke, but the fingerings are the same.

Basically, any thing you learn to play on a ukulele can be immediately transferred to a guitar's first 4 strings, remembering that if will be a different key.

  4. Um_Player93,

Ukes are much easier than a regular guitar.  But basically the same.  You chord, you strum, you pick.   Get yourself a cheap, but good one, for starters.  (Try a lanikai.)  Then check out Youtube and you'll find lessons....or see if there isn't a local uke club around your area.  Lots of fun playing with others.
