Question:

I want to polish up my old bord without having to sand it back. All wax gone but need a tip or two.?

The board is in good shape and has not gone yellow etc. I dont need a hollywood shine just something to take the blur of the wax off.

  1. Do you mean that you want to get the old wax residue off of the board so that you can put a fresh coat of wax on?  If so, there are a couple of tips: 1) if the board is already kind of old, you might want to leave it out in the sun for 10 mins or so, and then wipe off the now soft/runny wax with a rag or towel.  You can simulate the sun at night or winter with a blow dryer.  Also, acetone works great to get it spotless clean to re-wax or prep an area for ding repair.


  2. Lemon Pledge.  It will disolve the residue and polish at the same time.  Very amazing stuff.  Try it, you'll like it.  I've used it for the past 30 some odd years.  Don't use acetone or other petroleum based solvents because they will weaken the resin in the long run.
