I want to pre-order a CD which will be out in stores on August 19. Will I have the CD on the 19 or earlier?

I was just wondering when you pre-order will I have the CD item on the 19th of August when it officially comes out in the stores, or will I receive it before it's official sale date?

Most of the time when you pre-order something you cannot get it any earlier than the release date.  But you guarentee getting it incase it sells out right away. Some stores will give you a deal if you pre-order, like Blockbuster might give you a free rental if you pre-order to buy a particular movie.
