  1. There's this place called Starved Rock that is soooo beautiful. But it's about an hour and a half away in Utica but it's nice.

Beall Mansion is in Alton, IL. Its a nice bed and breakfast.

If all else fails you could turn your house into a romantic getaway. You could theme it romantically like Paris or Spain. All out...with cooking, music, and everything else.

    Good Luck and Congratulations

  2. Don't listen to people saying that HE should propose, I have a friend that proposed to HER husband and you know what? They've been married for 30 years, been together for 32 years.

Why don't you go to a romantic hotel?

My friend and her husband honeymooned at the Ritz-Carlton, a Four Seasons Hotel.

  3. Are you sure he wants to marry you? Why hasn't he proposed already if you've been together 7 years? When you've discussed marriage before were you the one who wasn't ready yet?

  4. You can do the cheesy "Sybaris" thing, which is located in Northbrook.

    Or...

I would suggest staying in Chicago.  Get a swanky hotel room at the Drake or the Hotel Sax for the night.  Have dinner and drinks in the Signature Room in the Hancock...and pop the question there.

    Or...

Go on a dinner cruise on Lake Michigan (the Odyssey and other boats offer this).  When the sun has set and you can see the skyline, ask him then.

    Good luck!

  5. i live in Chicago IL as well. try going on google and look up    romantic IL getawys . and congrats I hope he says yes

  6. google local bed and breakfast or fancy hotel for a night or so and ask there

  7. If you two have been together for 7 years, if he wanted to marry you he should have asked you already. 7 years is a long time, and unless there was something else in the way of him asking you (which if there was, you should have known about) then there is no reason for him not asking you. I hate to say it, but he is most likely not ready for marriage if he hasn't asked you yet, I know because my best friend asked her boyfriend to marry her after 12 years of being together, and he said no. Call me old fashioned, but I think he should be proposing to you. Either way you'll get your answer if you choose to go through with asking him. All I can say is good luck.
