  1. You can't beat MIT.  But it is also the most selective university in the world and it only accepts a tiny fraction of truly stellar "brains" from its applicants.  You have to be the best, period.  There are so many good schools in the US, you'll have to do some research.  Be aware that the competition for grad school is intense, and your background will have to include graduation from a very reputable university.

To get into a US grad school, you need to take the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) and TOEFL.  You need transcripts (with translations if not in English), top-notch grades for your bachelors degree, and high test scores.

Costs:  for 2 years with transportation, living expenses, thesis expenses, etc. on top of tuition, fees, books & supplies, plan on US$100,000 or more.

Student visas require that the student return to their own country upon completion or termination of studies.  There won't be any "salary" -- students are forbidden to work.  Furthermore, the US job market is glutted with comp sci, IT, etc. people who are getting rather desperate for jobs with the current downturn.  Even the body shops are sending people home because they can't afford to keep so many "on the bench."

To get a student visa, you need documentation from your school proving that you  have been accepted, proof of sufficient funds to cover all of your school expenses, living expenses and transportation back home upon completion or termination of your studies.  You must be interviewed in your country of citizenship.  If accepted, you may enter the US no more than 30 days before classes begin, and must depart within 30 days of completing or terminating studies.  Visa violations require immediate departure.
