he claims that On Line education is a hoax, it's not real, that recruiters do not recognize it. I am very confused. That University offers the specific course that I want to pursue but it's on line. Will I have difficulty securing a job on completion.

  1. My brother-in-law is a military recruiter and says that college credit is college credit.   As long as the school is regionally or nationally accredited, you are fine.  A recruiter may tell you that you don't have enough credits or the specific ones you need to go towards a military commissioned program (to be an officer), but where you obtained those credits, whether from a campus college or an on line college, it doesn't matter.

  2. if ur an adult and employed in company for full time then u can go with online degree

  3. Hi, I completed my Master's in Education with AIU, American InterContinental University.  It's not a hoax.  Many colleges are offering classes online to satisfy more students that also work fulltime.  Online classes are every bit as valid as one you attend in class.  Don't hesitate to complete a class online....I bet you fall in love with it!

Online degree programs were created because so many adults wanted to go back to school for additional education, but were unable to because most universities/colleges were targeting the "after highschool" student.  AIU and University of Phoenix are just two of the biggest online educational institutions.  Check for their accreditation.  All have to be accredited.  Most campuses today offer classes that students can take online and inclass.  Online education is not like classes by VCR were 10-15 years ago.  Online doesn't mean self-study.  Classes are proctored, and every class I took for my Master's was taught/facilitated by a qualified, educated teacher.  Online classes aren't for everyone.  You must be disciplined and self motivated.  You will have class times that you will be expected to log on and join in discussions and participate.  Assignments are done singly and in groups.  It's the way of the future and an excellent way to get an education.  Tuition assistance is accepted and most employers do offer it.  Online classes are intense and targeted.  No distractions by gum-chewing classmates, people coming in late, leaving to go "potty", interruptions, etc.  And, they're fast.  You can complete a Master's degree in 10 months if you want.  If you want to know about online degrees, talk to the horse not a friend who doesn't know what it's about.  Do the homework by talking to the college or university.  But most important....don't wait.  Go for it!!!
