I have $10000 I want to put in a low risk security....since I need the money in 1 year. I'm thinking of a money market, bond or CD. Of course I want the highest return possible. Is there a place I can invest this money online? Or a website where I can get updated information on these securities? Thanks!

  1. citibank as an online accont e-savings, you can open one with the, and that will qualify you to also get a cd thru them if thats what you want

  2. I think bankrate.com is the best for your purpose. Good luck

  3. CD & MM is the lowest risk, and also the lowest return.

You have enough to diversify, so consider putting something (as little as even  $1000, which is 10%) in buying commodities like gold and silver.

Check yourself how much the price of gold and silver has gone up. If the same happens again, 10% of your money gains at least 30%. That means you made 3%. (you'll still have the 3% of the 90% of the money you put in CD)

So if you put it all in CD, you'd have 3% total.

If you put some in silver and nothing happens you still make 2.7%

But if the same happens in silver, you make 5.7%-6% (or more)

    Make sense?
