I want to put in my week notice today..but i just dont know how?

i feel really bad that i have to put in my week notice at my job...but it is something that i need to do for myself..this is what i was thinking of saying...

"Tom,

it has been a pleasure working for you, but this job is taking a lot of time away from my school work. Please consider this my week notice, Firday August 29th will be my last day.

Thank you"

what do you think..im going to e-mail it to him..

Tom,

I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to work in this great environment. I have learned much and made friends but at this time, due to my concentration on college, I am submitting in my resignation effective August 29, 2008.

First of all, I wouldnt email it to him. Thats just not very professional. You should say it to him in person and you dont have to give that many details. Just say that the job doesnt fulfill your needs anymore...
