  1. Go for it

  2. Please do fallow Megans answer it's the right one I do run a pre-scool in Puerto Rico and those are the requierements that u should look for.

In my opinion I think you should ask for licence from the family department and references from parents, also you should manage to ask the schools to let you stay for an hour or so  for evaluation of the activities of the kids (usually go in the afternoon) an in that you get an idea of where you can enroll her.

and last but not least you should let you baby on the fist week stay for 2 hours and on the second increase the time by an hour per day so she can feel comftable, remind her mommy IS going to pick her up later.

It is a wonderfull experience for your kid and she will be way ahead of the rest of the class when she gets to kindergarten.

    good luck to both

  3. Yes, your child could attend preschool and we as preschool teachers appreciate you thinking about sending your child.

You can find quality 3 year old programs which would be different than a 4 year old program.  From personal experience I would suggest that you find a class that is specifically for that age.  There are some good programs that have a mixed 3/4/5 year old programs but I find there is a large difference in development between 3 and 5.  :-)

My other suggestion to you is to begin looking into programs that specifically teach preschool and is not a child care center based program...again, there are quality preschool programs in a center but I have found that "private" preschools or those associated with a school district tend to provide decent preschool programs.    Good luck!  Ask some parents around your area for their suggestions.  Check your local library... ours has a binder of all the child cares and preschools in the area.

  4. there could be a Church (I went to one that was a Church) i don't really know a lot just that one and some schools have them

  5. As the first poster said, yes try looking in the yellow book. It is sooo important to find a quality preschool for her. Ask about each of your child's teacher's qualifications. Ask how many children a staff member is allowed to have on her own (it shouldn't be more than 10 MAX). If it's more than that, it's not a good preschool. Ideally it would be one teacher to every seven students (or less).

Also look at the materials that the classroom has to offer. Do they have learning centers set up around the classroom? Such as a Math/Science Area, a writing area, maybe a computer area.

Find out if they have an "open door" policy. This means they welcome parents to come in at any time to see what their child is doing, expected or unexpected.

Preschool is such an important stage so it's really a good idea to ask as many questions as you can and make the best choice.

    Good luck.

  6. yes, sure you can just look in you yellow pages, or online and call around

  7. Yes our school starts at age two. Just be sure that they are accredited and visit often. Talk with the director and observe the classes, all the classes. Ask if there is a way to meet some of the parents who already have their children in a class there. You might ask neighbors or people who you are social with. Just be very involved and alert to what goes on once she is in school. It will be a good thing for all of you.

  8. We accept children into our private preschool with the cut off date of August 2 of this year.  So depending on when your cihld's birthday is in August, she could be accepted.  We go by this date only because children must be 5 by August 2 to enter kindergarten -so they have two years of preschool and then off to kindergarten.
