I want to quit Wal-mart but how do I get my last check?

My question is I want to quit because I'm so disgusted on how they treat their employees and I was only doing it to make extra money. But If I abandon the job( I could care less about giving a plantation a 2 week notice) How can I get my last check because you have to pick it up there. I'm afraid of going to pick up my last check and it not being there. If anyone has quit wal-mart what did you do?

Answer: Employers are not required by federal law to give former employees their final paycheck immediately. Some states, however, may require immediate payment. If the regular payday for the last pay period an employee worked has passed and the employee has not been paid, contact the Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division or the state labor department. DOL also has mechanisms in place for the recovery of back wages.

When you quit you can sign a form saying it is ok to mail your last check. I myself wouldn't want to wait and would pick it up. They have high turnover and won't "look at you funny" nor anyone else.

hey i just quit because of the usual abusive tactics walmart has,  and i was a manager if you are in an at will hire state dont worry about notice only if you know you will never look back like me.  I will march in ask for my check and leave nuff said, if they fail to give you your check or want to  hold it or dont want to give it to you at all is very bad mojo for the company considering the law.  If this happens there will be about a million attorneys l*****g their chops to help you,  walmart is a very evil vindictive place to work for,  they are the one company that needs a union.  If they dont give you your check just mention lawyers and you will get it post haste they train us managers to lie to other employees on why unions are BAD open door policy is closed.  Now go get your check and be done with them all together you deserve better.

quit the day you get your check like wait till you get you last check if you get you checks the week after just say mail me my check or you can pick it up dont be scared just say you grandfather died and you need to take time off

Regardless who you work for your employer will issue you a final check, doesn't matter if you quit or they let you go.  You can also call and ask your final check be mailed to you.

You are going to find most all places aren't fair, you feel like they have taken from you. (Welcome to the world of employment.) No matter how bad a job was when I left I've always put in my two weeks’ notice and finish out my time.  There is a certain enjoyment knowing that after the two weeks you won’t be there anymore to have to deal with the nonsense you developed this thing called "Short Timers Disease...  In the end you will always have self respect...They can't take that away from you. Whether you know it or not doing it this way builds personal character.

They have to give you a check for the hours you work, by law. I would either have them mail it to you  (which they probably will do if you quit) or go get it.
