I want to do more productive stuff other than gaming and the computer , it seems my biggest problem when it comes to socializing is that i rather pick up the controller rather than hanging out with my friends. Is there anyway to stop this addiction? I just can't stop playing my ps3.

  1. yea mman the same thing happened to me look just ask a friend to keep your console and your tower for a while

  2. Hey friend, there's no quick and easy way about doing this. I know that feeling. What I'll do to curb a craving is to play a sport or try other activities. I still play games a lot, however my time is spread across the basketball team, college work, chilling with friends etc. Try and preoccupy yourself. You dont have to stop straight away (doesnt really help), play ps3 with your friends if that helps. I'm no expert - hope this helps.

  3. Try and set up a special system. Give yourself about an hour a day to use your computer and such, and use your free time to hang out with your friends, read, and exercise! Maybe you could even get a part time job at a nearby store to earn some money (just be sure the store doesn't stock a lot of computer games). If you want a challenge, give yourself a required amount of time per day to do reading, exercising, etc. If you keep up this schedule for, say, a month, without cheating or quitting, reward yourself with a new game and maybe a little extra time on your games daily. Good luck, and hope I helped!

  4. You can consider speaking with someone about it. Have you talked to a friend, sibling, or parent? Whatever your age, you might also consider finding a counselor to discuss this. You could discuss socialization, addictive behaviors, your desire to be more productive, the things you want to achieve -- ideally anything, if you have a counselor with whom you're comfortable. In some areas you can find counseling available on a "sliding scale," so that if you don't have much money, they won't ask you to pay much. One example for counseling services in and around Dallas, Texas:

Though you might see expressions like "spiritually based" and indeed the word "pastoral," my experience with this organization is that the counselors are not at all closed-minded.

This is not necessarily extreme advice; one need not be in crisis in order to benefit from counseling. :-)

  5. You can give your system to someone like your parents or relative to hold on to so you can't play it, and tell them not to sell it because they won't be doing you a favor. You can also get a job. That might keep you busy; and if you already have a job you can maybe work overtime. that way you kill your habbit and also earn more money!

  6. its easy sell your ps3 and delete programs off your computer, simple
