Yes.  Just know that sub work isn't steady work and in the summers you won't have any work...so you'll have to get a summer job.  Subs don't make tons of $$ so be prepared to be broke for a while until you can really get a good reputation with teachers.  If a teacher likes you they sometimes can request for you to be their sub.

Are you bi-lingual?  Do you sign?  There will be plenty of work with LA Unified, but it is hard work.  At first you will really have to scramble to get in 12 days of work.  It would be best if you have a specialty -- for instance math.  If you get a good reputation then you may be asked to  be a long term sub.  The easiest assignments are special ed because you have an aide, or you travel to the classrooms with the students.  Let us know how it works out for you.  4th graders and 8th graders are the rowdiest.  Good luck.
