  1. wood?

  2. You should be able to go into one of the discount stores, HD, Lowes and purchase a piece of wood that you can cut little pieces off of and match your table legs.  If they're round, find some round stock, if they're square find some square stock, maybe a 2x2.  Let your immagination take over and then cut four pieces the same, glue or s***w them to your present table.  presto, 2 inches

  3. Good answer from lar. I would add that rather than try to glue or s***w the leg extensions on, buy some double ended screws. They look like regular wood screws, but have points and threads on both ends. You then drill a hole in the top of each leg extension and in to the bottom of the existing leg, and just s***w them in. You  have to pre-drill holes to prevent splitting, and use some soap [bar or liquid] on the threads to make it easier to s***w them in. This will make strong, reliable legs, and its inexpensive. Get them at any hardware or home store.
