I want to re-dcorate my bedroom - make it cosy !?

I'm 14 and i don't feel very cossy at all in my room. i want it to be really cosy and a place i can easily relax and have friends in.

It's an avarage size and just a square shape so nothing special.

But what do you think i could do to make it more cosy ? I have enough furniture in it and stuff so i don't really need to buy anymore.

go for darker, warmer colours eg:

plum

emerald green

browns

beige

think of a little cottage, get a rug, and some candles, and some nice smelly things to put on the windowsill.

The best place to get ideas is Rooms To Go Kids and Lowe's.I look in the paint department and look Through the paint idea cards.Cozy  is best achieved in earth tones, You can add furry rugs or throws, pillows or  plants.Big Lots and the Family Dollar is a great  place to embellish a room on a budget.I have a 17 year old and she likes to play piano.The top portion of her room is aqua and the bottom 3 and a half feet from the floor up is painted like piano keys all around , black and white.Her bed spread ,curtains and furniture are all black. Carpet  is teal.She has several furry black rugs and aqua pillows for friends to lay on the floor and chill.I hope this has helped, happy decorating.

Use incandescent lights in lamps or floor lamps.Avoid florescent lights witch produce an unnatural light and don't use overhead lights,they are to bright.paint the walls a soft warm color,beige,cream,light browns,deep reds or soft yellows would all work good.If you go with a brown or red,paint only 1 wall,the wall that your bed is on.Paint the other 3 walls a cream or beige color.Avoid a dark or bright color.Light blues or greens can also be used with the right accessories.Toss throw pillows,lots of throw pillows on the bed,drape soft throw blankets at the foot of the bed and on chairs throughout the room.Pick a theme for your room,example:cottage,cabin,beachside retreat,go to teensthemes.com for ideas.Use the theme throughout the room. Keep the decor simple,steer clear of clutter and don't display collectibles or trophies in the bedroom.Add an area rug and keep the room clean,put a small trash basket in the room.
