okay. i lost like, 18 pounds this summer and i am currently 5' 7'' and a steady 168-174 pounds. i want to get down to at least 148, i'd really like to get down to the 130-135 region. i'd like to do that by my birthday party on november 15. when i lost the weight this summer, i didn't keep up with toning exercises, so I'm starting to get flabby. i walk 1.5 to 2 miles 5 days a week to make up for not playing volleyball anymore. i need some advice so i can begin immediately: on food, exercises, etc. i want serious answers, not to ask my doctor, because i know what my body can handle. please and thank-you.

note: i am asthmatic.

  1. I would start with the diet, first of all, stay away from the sugars and too many carbohydrates, eat only chicken or turkey and all green vegetables , this is the time for dieting because of the fresh vegetables available, so take advantage of this also the fresh fruits, deat no fats from beef, pork, and lamb, the green vegetables are the best for now because they contain the least calories and they have alot of antioxidants which is good for rebuilding your body while your dieting. about exersize, you need to do more walking, as a general rule you can walk one mile in twenty minutes. so walk for one hour a day, if you can, I dont know what you can handle with your breathing problem. try running to music if you cant get outside, also running up and down the stairs is also good,  Have you got a friend that would exersize with you? if so it would be much easier to have someone to go through the misery with, I know what its like. what about basketball? hope you make it.  April

  2. I suggest cutting out sugar and bad carbs, and increasing the amount of protein and fiber you eat.  Eat only whole grains when you do eat bread & pasta.  Look into the South beach diet.  I have had great sucess with this program.  Also, you don't have to feel bad about slipping up a little.  I lost about 40 pound in 5 months doing this.  I am also asthmatic.  Hope this helped =)
