Question:

I want to record a u-tube video to my dvr or vcr to share with others, why cant I right click save target as?

If they have some device I can use to do this or are there other ways to save this fantastic video to my collection? What are my options because my 12 year niece told me its done all the time by kids at her school but couldnt tell a old lame like me exactaly how. Can some tech savy person help me out?

  1. YouTube videos use a flash player to stream the video, so that's why you can't right click and save-as.

    I also have no idea how you'd record it to a DVR or VCR.  That's more a screen capture.

    But if you want to save the video, you'll need a browser plug-in such as this one: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox... (< Haven't tried this, just found it on google.)  You're supposed to be able to save flash videos.  

    idk, unless it's particularly funny I wouldn't download something from youtube.  The encoding and resolution are normally pretty bad, leading to really blocky pictures that will be more evident if you make them full screen.
